A 56-year-old manager of a funeral parlour is expected to appear before the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court for alleged rape. The suspect was arrested on Thursday, 23 July 2020, for allegedly raping a 30-year-old fellow employee at Bushbuckridge.

According to information, the woman reported that she was about to knock off when her manager requested her to go and buy groceries. When she came back from the shop, she found that her colleagues had gone home except the manager who then locked the main door immediately as she entered the building. Seeing what was happening, she went to the toilet, called her husband to alert him as she was fearing for her life.

After alerting her husband, the woman went straight to her office and that’s when the manager allegedly raped her. Her husband came as he was called and she related everything what happened to her.

The matter was then reported to the police where a case of rape was opened. The woman further indicated that it was not for the first time that the suspect raped her. She revealed to the police that in 2019, he raped her twice in the bushes around Acornhoek.

The police swiftly arrested the suspect and charged him with rape.

The suspect is due to appear in the local magistrate’s court on Friday, 24 July 2020.
