Police in Mpumalanga are looking for information that could lead to the arrest of two men who robbed a house at Vlaklaagte, Kwaggafontein yesterday, 12 July 2018, taking 30 boxes of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash.

It is alleged that the victim was asleep when he was awoken by a noise coming from the rooftop. As he was about to shout for help, two men showed up and demanded money. He showed them where the money was but they said it was not enough. They assaulted him and took an electrical device to torture him, burnt him with an iron and even poured water on his face.

The suspects took the boxes of cigarettes which he stored in the house for distribution and loaded them in his Nissan bakkie before demanding the car keys.

They covered his face with a T shirt and tied his hands with a belt, assaulted him with a firearm on his head before fleeing the scene leaving him lying on the floor.

He was found by the landlord who took him to the clinic.

The bakkie was later recovered abandoned around Kwaggafontein. Police urge anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to please contact Sergeant Solomon Bhinki Mahlangu at 079 905 7517 or call the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
