A 32 year old man has been arrested and appeared in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court on 21 February 2018, in connection with alleged kidnapping.
The arrest follows police investigation relating to an incident where suspects broke into a house at Vosman on 28 January 2018, and kidnapped two children, a 13 year old girl as well as a fifteen month-old baby.
In the process of the investigation, police were able to discover two bodies, at Cullinan and along the N4 Highway respectively.
However police cannot confirm at this stage whether the bodies are of the kidnapped children, pending the DNA tests and post mortem. Police investigations are underway as it is believed that the arrested suspect did not carry out this evil act alone.
“We would like to thank the community for working hand in hand with the police as it led to the arrest of the suspect and to the discovery of the bodies,” said the Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma.
