Jamvier Ramazani (30) was remanded in custody by the Bethal Magistrate Court on Tuesday 28 December 2021, after he was arrested on warrant of arrest by the Hawks` Serious Organised Crime Investigation and Secunda Crime Intelligence on Tuesday for Car hijacking , dealing in drugs and conspiracy in dealing in drugs.

Information about outstanding wanted suspect on Major investigation Dream On –was followed and the suspect was traced and arrested at his hiding place in Emzinoni for dealing in drugs for the case which happened in June 2021 at Bethal.

There was an intelligence operation conducted in July 2021 where ten suspects were arrested and Ramazani evaded the arrest.

During further investigation the suspect was linked to another case of dealing in drugs which happened in May 2018 at Emzinoni. He was also linked to the case of car hijacking which happened in July 2021 at Bethal.

During his court appearance on all three cases, the car hijacking case was remanded to 4 January 2022 for further investigation and the other drug dealing case was remanded to 4 February 2022 to be joined with the other accused who were arrested in July whereby eight accused were released on bail with strictly conditions, and two were denied bail and remained in custody.

The Acting Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Brigadier Ramakgoakgo applauded the team and the public for working together in the fight against drugs abuse within the community. The Brigadier urged the public not to get tired in reporting crime which is happening around their neighbourhoods.
