Two suspects, aged 29 and 32 respectively were arrested on 29 December 2021 at Sabie, by members of the Nelspruit Flying Squad Unit for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
According to the report, the two suspects were driving in a vehicle that was allegedly hijacked at Kabokweni when a tracking company followed up on the GPS coordinates to locate the vehicle and also alerted the Nelspruit Flying Squad Unit.
Upon noticing they were being tailed by police as well as members from the tracking company, the suspects fled into a bush nearby and were later picked up by a friend.
The police officers then managed to gather information which led them to a house in Sabie where the two were cornered and arrested. They further recovered three 9mm pistols with ammunition, as well as suspected stolen cellphones.
The two suspects were charged accordingly and are due to appear at the Sabie Magistrate’s Court Today, 30 December 2021, facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as possession of suspected stolen property.
