A 39-years-old suspected police killer has been arrested in a joint collaboration of the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation based in Secunda and Secunda K9 in Eziphunzi, Thandukhanya at Piet Retief.
This suspect is reported that to have been linked to the brutal attack and killing of the late police officer, WO Langelihle Hlatshwayo who shot while entering his home by unknown suspects.
The victim was transported by to a Provincial hospital in Piet Retief and later to Piet Retief Medi Clinic in critical condition for treatment. The member later succumbed to his injuries.
Another suspect who is yet to appear in court was arrested on Friday, 18 May 2023 in Evander.
More arrests cannot be ruled out.
The suspects will appear in the Piet Retief Magistrates’ court on 22 May 2023.
