Half-naked body wrapped in a duvet recovered on R50 road in Standerton

A body of a 42-year-old Mr Wayne Henderson, covered in a duvet was recovered by Standerton police after it was spotted on the R50 about 5km to Standerton by a farm worker in the early hours of Tuesday 07 November 2023 at about 03:00.

The victim is believed to have been abducted in Hercules, Pretoria in Gauteng.

Mr Henderson was found not far from the vehicle which was reported missing by his father in Hercules.

On investigation, blood stains were found in the boot of the vehicle, a grey Renault Sandero.

The deceased was found with his neck sliced opened and a stab wound on his head.

Mr Henderson was positively identified by a family member at about 07:30 on the same day.

Circumstances surrounding his murder are currently unclear, but both Standerton and Hercules police are trying their best to connect the dots which might lead to the arrest of the possible suspects.
