Mxolise Benedict Mona (35), the sole director of the company called “Black Brothers Productions” was arrested by the Hawks’ Nelspruit based Serious Commercial Crime investigation team on Thursday, 02 November 2023 for fraud, theft or alternatively contravening the provisions of section 235 (1) (a) and (e) of the Tax Administrations Act, Act 28 of 2011. It is alleged that during January 2017, Mona submitted fraudulent tax returns (PAYE) to the South African Revenue Service, claiming undue funds, whereby payments were made into the above mentioned business bank account , prejudicing the revenue service, causing a potential loss of R 929 256.87.
Philisiwe Miriam Pretty Lephoko (35), the sole director of company called “Premix Trading 43 cc” was arrested by the Hawks’ Nelspruit based Serious Commercial Crime investigation team for fraud, theft or alternatively contravening the provisions of section 235 (1) (a) and (e) of the Tax Administrations Act, Act 28 of 2011
It is alleged that during February 2019, the accused submitted fraudulent tax returns (PAYE) to the South African Revenue Service, claiming undue funds, where payments were made into the above mentioned business bank accounts, prejudicing the revenue service and causing an actual loss of R 464 550.28
Nomusa Angel Maziya (65) the sole director of the company called “Okuhlekodwa Trading and Projects 82 cc” was arrested by the Hawks’ Nelspruit based Serious Commercial Crime investigation team for fraud, theft or alternatively contravening the provisions of section 235 (1) (a) and (e) of the Tax Administrations Act, Act 28 of 2011
It’s alleged that during March 2018, Maziya submitted fraudulent tax returns for foreign tax credits to the South African Revenue Service. The accused claimed undue funds, where payments were made into the above mentioned business bank account then Maziya transferred the money into accused no 3- Noziga Agnes Mokoena’s (65) and accused no 4- Smangele Happiness Zulu’s (41) personal bank accounts as beneficiaries through misrepresentation thus prejudicing the revenue service whilst causing an actual loss of R 202 771.99 and a potential loss of R 219 492.00.
Warrants of arrest were issued. The accused were arrested on Thursday, 02 November 2023 and appeared at Kanyamazane Magistrates Court on the same day and they were released on R10 000 bail each. The cases were postponed to 13 November 2023 for further investigation. Matter was transferred to the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court Nelspruit.
