South African Police Service

Members of the South African Police Service at Schoemansdal, near Malelane are on the manhunt for a group of men who bombed a safe at a local filling station and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in the early hours of the morning on 31 December 2018.

Information at police disposal revealed that around 01:45, two unknown men knocked on the door of the filling station shop and demanded keys but were told that the keys were unavailable. Soon thereafter more men, estimated between 10 and 11, surfaced and started shooting at the door, apparently trying to open it but to no avail. Somehow the suspects soon managed to forcefully open the cashier burglar door and gained entry into the safe room.

Once in that room, the suspects then blasted the safe before fleeing with the cash

Police are making an earnest appeal to anyone with information that may aid them in tracing the villains and also in the investigation of this case to contact Detective Constable Vusi Bhiya on 013 7813322 or the SAPS Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.
