During a farm attack on Wednesday 28 March 2018, a man(56) was shot through his bathroom window, on his farm in Mpumalanga.
Ian Cameron from AfriForum said that the attack happened at 22:10 on a farm in the Balmoral area, west of Witbank. “Nico Minnie and his wife heard the dogs barking outside and investigated by shining a torch through the windows, there was at least three suspects outside” he said.
“When shining the torch through the bathroom window, shots were fired and Minnie was hit in the hand and shoulder. The suspects then attempted to break into the house at two seperate place. Minnie’s wife summoned help from the neighbours who reacted and on their arrival the suspects fled” Cameron added.
Paramedics were called and Minnie was stabilized and taken to hospital, the Vosman dog unit and police were in attendance.
According to Cameron, Minnie’s dad (77) was also attacked on the farm in 2016 and sadly died three months later from his injuries.
Police are investigating and no arrests have been made.
