According to information, the 42-year-old husband who is employed and residing at Kromdraai Farm invited his 34-year-old wife who was staying at Ebeneser Farm to his residence during the night of Sunday, 30 April 2023.

On Monday, 1 May 2023, when the family could not be reached on their mobile phones, the family started searching for them.

Information was received that there was gunshot sounds which were heard from the couple’s place.

On further investigation, the couple was found lying on the pool of blood in the kitchen floor at about 08:00.

A firearm with fifteen live rounds and three empty cartridge cases were also found next to the couple.

The wife was declared dead by medical practitioners on the scene whilst the husband was rushed to hospital and he also succumbed to his injuries this morning Tuesday 2 May 2023 at about 02:00.

Police had since registered the murder case as well as inquest dockets for further investigation.

Police cannot rule out possibilities that the husband might have shot his wife and turned the gun to himself, but that will be revealed by the outcome of investigation.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela warned community members who might have domestic related problems to speak out so that arrangements for professional advisors can be arranged.
