A farm murder took place on 22 October 2020, on a smallholding, near the R555 road, outside Witbank in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. The body of a man (65), who is reported to be the caretaker of the property, was found early on Thursday morning. He was found with his hands tied behind his back and severe injuries to his face and head.
It is unclear at this stage what, if anything, was stolen during the attack and the senseless murder of the man. The Witbank police are investigating the murder but there have been no arrests.
The possibility that this was another hate crime cannot be ruled out. There is no other information available at this stage.
