Farm murder: 4 Attackers, woman assaulted tied up and killed, Nelspruit

A farm attack took place on 7 December 2019, in Rietspruit near Uitkyk, Nelspruit, Mpumalanga province. The attack took place on a smallholding at 12:00. A 54 year old woman, Catherine Irving, was brutally murdered at Uitkyk Plot 13, Mbombela when she was stabbed to death by four black males who attacked her in her home. Her gardener discovered her body after he saw the attackers run away and he called for help at the neighbors. The woman was found tied up.

The attackers fled with Irving’s firearm and cell phone. Irving, who owned Shamroc Cattery and Kennels, was working outside when she was attacked by the men.

She was taken into her home, tied up, assaulted and killed.

Police are investigating a case of murder and no arrests have been made yet. There is no other information available at this stage.
