A farm attack took place on 10 August 2022, at 12:05, in the Broodsnyersplaas area, between Middelburg and the Komati power station, in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.
The farmer Dawie Keeve had gone to start the generator after the power had gone off. His daughter accompanied him.
When he arrived at the generator he was ambushed and attacked. His daughter managed to flee back to the house and raise the alarm.
The attackers assaulted the farmer, loaded him onto his bakkie and sped off.
The farmers in the area responded with a well organised operation and on route to assist one of the responders past the farmer bakkie being driven by the attackers.
The responder pursued the bakkie causing the attackers to loose control of the vehicle. He arrested two suspects on the scene.
The abducted farmer, who had been hit over the head with a firearm was found in the back of the vehicle. He was not seriously injured.
Further operations resulted in another three attackers being arrested.
