A farm attack took place on 14 August 2022, at 14:00, on a farm in Badfontein, Lydenburg in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Three attackers arrived at the farmstead on foot and overpowered a family.

The man, his wife and small daughter were assaulted and tied up.

The attackers were wearing dark raincoats, and were armed with one handgun and one hunting rifle.

The attackers ransacked the home and only left the property at 19:00. During this time they loaded a number of household items onto the owners bakkie and vehicle.

The husband was able to untie himself by 20:00, and by 20:20 had been able to alert the farm owner who raised the alarm. Local farmers and other role players responded.

Current reports are that the couple and child were unharmed.

On back of bakkie: KTM motor bike, stove, fridge and other items stolen from house.

No firearms were stolen.

The police are investigating the attack and robbery but there have been no arrets.
