A farm attack took place in Wakkerstroom, Mpumalanga on 15 July 2018, at 19:00. A farmer and his wife aged between 87 and 84 were attacked along with their 20 year old grandson.
At 19:00 the household staff left and went home, five minutes later the residents were attacked by a group of black males. Entrance was gained through the backdoor of their home.
The dog guarding the outside was calm during the attack and is unharmed. The suspects forced the elderly couple on to the floor and assaulted the grandson. The elderly couple and their grandson have been severely traumatised by the attack.
Weapons and jewelry were taken during the attack.
After 20:00 alarm was made and the Fortuner that was robbed during the attack was spotted. It was pursued to Driefontein where the suspects abandoned the vehicle along with their own weapons.
