A farm attack was averted on 3 December 2019, in Middelburg, Mpumalanga province. An elderly farmer noticed two suspects outside his window. He got his firearm and fired off warning shots, causing the attackers to flee. The farmers alertness and quick reaction possibly prevented another atrocity from unfolding on a South African Farm.
