Farm attack, 5 armed attackers overpower farmer, Marble Hall

A farm attack took place in Marble Hall on Sunday 6 January 2019, at 02:30. Francois Bekker was overpowered in his house in Toitskraal by five armed attackers wearing balaclavas. He was assaulted and tied up. The attackers robbed two 9mm pistols and a 30.06 hunting rifle and fled the scene in Bekker’s Toyota Hilux.

After the alarm was raised a number of farmers, the Toitskraal farm watch and security companies in the area responded. Bekker was fortunately not severely harmed during the attack. After following up information his vehicle was later discovered under a bridge.

The investigation continues.
