A farm attack took place on 2 September 2020, at 21:00, in Bethal, in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Three armed attackers broke down the door of the home and attacked a couple. A shootout ensued and the man was shot in the chest after which the attackers fled.
All role players and local farmers responded and the man was evacuated to Trichardt Medi Clinic. He is in a stable condition.
An hour later an armed robbery took place in the Bethal area and a Silver VW Polo was robbed. It is possible that it was the same three attackers. Those that responded to the attack recovered the vehicle abandoned in the Ogies area at 02:00.
The police are investigating both incidents but there have been no arrests. There is no other information available at this stage.
