The police in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga are searching for four suspects after a couple was attacked and robbed on a smallholding in Hermannsburg.
The police said it is not clear how the suspects gained entry into the house, and that the suspects had duplicate keys. When the couple arrived at the house, the suspects had already ransacked the house and had two firearms in their possession. The suspects tied up the couple and demanded money from them. When they could not get any money, the suspects became very angry and hit the woman over the hand with a heavy object.
The suspects loaded a washing machine onto the couple bakkie, with various other valuable items and fled.
The community security and police responded to the incident, and the woman was taken to hospital for medical treatment. Apparently, it was only her fingers that were injured during the attack.
The police are investigating the incident.
