Audeen Michell Ditshego (47), employed at Standerton Magistrate court as an administration clerk appeared before the same court on 4 June 2021, following her arrest on Thursday, 3 June 2021. She was arrested by the Hawks` Serious Corruption Investigation team in Mpumalanga for alleged corruption.

It is alleged that on the 5 May 2021, Ditshego allegedly called the complainant telling him that he is owing money for maintenance and the court issued an order for his bank account to be frozen. She further told him that in order for them to assist him, he should deposit twenty five thousand rand (R25 000) into a bank account belonging to the second suspect.

The complainant complied and deposited the money as demanded.

Few days later, they phoned him again and told him that they want to assist him to end the case by stealing the file then hand it over to him if he can pay them ten thousand rand. The complainant reported the matter to the Hawks who initiated an investigation and an undercover operation was conducted.

Ditshego was arrested after the file was handed over to the complainant in exchange of ten thousand rand (R10 000). The second suspect was not present during the arrest of Ditshego. She was released on R500-00 bail and the case was postponed to 1 July 2021 for further investigation.

A warrant of arrest was issued for the second suspect.
