Obed Thulani Shabangu, the ANC’s chief whip in Mpumalanga, was arrested at his house in Amersfoort, and he indicated that he wants to apply for bail.
Amersfoort police have arrested the ANC’s Shabangu on charges of corruption with the so called RDP housing scheme.
Police spokesperson confirmed that 41 year old ANC chief whip is in custody and will soon appear in court again.
He will appear again in court on Thursday 20 December 2018, police brigadier Augustine Mngomezulu said.
