On 5 November 2018, five drug mules are expected to appear at the Lydenburg and Witbank Magistrates’ Courts respectively facing drug related charges.

Four of the suspects, aged between 21 and 30, were arrested at Lydenburg during a stop and search operation. During the search, police found two black plastic bags wrapped with brown parcel tape containing dagga worth an estimated street value of R20 000, hence the arrest.

The other suspect, a 34 year old man, was brought to book on Friday, 2 November 2018, as a result of an intelligence driven sting operation. The operation was carried out following a tip off regarding a person dealing in drugs in a certain house around Witbank.

Upon arrival at the identified place, police conducted a search which led to the discovery of the drugs, namely, Cocaine, Heroin and Crystal Meth worth an estimated street value of about R11 500.
