Police in Mpumalanga made an appeal to the community to assist them in looking for a suspect who murdered a 32 year old woman at Moloto Block 4, KwaMhlanga and fled the scene. However the suspect’s freedom was short lived.

The police were informed that the woman was last seen by her family members on Sunday, 15 September 2019. The following day, on Monday morning, the family became suspicious when she still did not show up as she was supposed to prepare her two daughters for school. It is alleged that the children had asked the whereabouts of their mother from the boyfriend who was last seen with her and he alleged that she went to the clinic. He then left while the search was being conducted around the area.

As the search progressed, information revealed that her younger brother went inside her bedroom after the boyfriend had left and searched everywhere. He reportedly opened a steel case used by her boyfriend as a toolbox where he made a gruesome discovery of her sister’s body stuffed inside the case, half naked with bruises all over.

The motive behind the killing is still unknown at this stage and a case of murder was opened for investigation. The police then made an appeal to the community to assist them with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect. There was a team which was put in place by the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma in line with the 72 Hour Activation Plan to probe this matter.

General Zuma is pleased to announce that the suspect has been sniffed out from his hiding place at Ga-Masemola in an area called Makhutsho in Limpopo. The 32 year old suspect was found at his homestead and was arrested. At this stage, the police are still busy with further investigations on this matter as it also surfaced that after the murder, he allegedly committed a house robbery to get money to flee the area.

Further investigations have also uncovered that there are also other cases ranging from murder and rape he allegedly committed in Limpopo which he still yet to account for.
