The South African Police Service at Bethal are asking for assistance in bringing to book three suspects who robbed a local Old Age Home of its furniture and other property.

According to information at police disposal, the trio, two men and a woman pounced on the Home on Friday, 22 December 2017 around 23:00, with the woman wearing a gown. They approached a security guard who was on duty at the main gate and informed her that they were there to visit a family member.

The security guard then informed them that it was beyond visiting hours at which point the two men reportedly produced firearms and pointed them at the guard demanding entrance to the premises.

The guard then adhered to all the instructions fearing for her life. She opened the gate for the suspects to enter and the woman suspect led the way showing the men where to go for the keys to the premises, without uttering a word but only using signs as she covered her face with a brown scarf.

Upon entering the premises, they all went to the lady who was the duty officer (Matron) asking her to take them to the safe where they could get the keys to the safe and other apartments. The matron complied with their instructions and handed the keys to them.

The trio then took a number of television sets, decoders and jewelry from the safe. They then fled the scene with all the property using a white unknown bakkie with unknown registration plates.

The value of the stolen items is not known yet. No one has been arrested up to so far and anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is urged to contact Warrant Officer George Makgamata at 082 304 0052 or to call the SAPS Crime Stop 0n 08600 10111.
