The Hawks’ Provincial Head, Major General Zodwa Mokoena welcomed the sentence of yet another drug dealer. She hailed the investigation team for commendable efforts and further applauded the collaboration with our counterparts in ensuring that criminals are brought to book.
The acclamation followed the arrest of a criminal group during ‘Dream On’ project at Bethal in Mpumalanga between June 2021 and July 2022 respectively.
The group of the syndicate, Okereke Valentine Okwudiri (36), Kadima Remy (30), Male Mokoko (34), Mukembani Justin Kasindo (35), Rudi Angle Kishuka (25), Bongiwe Malingela (42), David Enewere (35) and Hassanda Kaluwe (32) appeared before the Bethal Regional Court on Monday, 5 December 2022.
The court sentenced one of them, Rudi Angle Kishuka (25) to thirteen years imprisonment for dealing and possession of drugs which was suspended to five years.
She was further declared unfit to possess firearm and the drugs were forfeited to the State.
The case against the other accused was postponed to 3 March 2023 for trial and they remain in custody.
