10 British tourists robbed and assaulted en route to Swaziland

On Thursday, 29 March 2018 at around 20:30, 10 British tourists were enroute to Swaziland travelling in two vehicles on the N17 road near Chrissiesmeer.

According to information at police disposal, two children who were part of the tourist convoy requested to relieve themselves, at which point the drivers stopped next to the road. It is reported that a grey Volkswagen Polo emerged with three occupants who were unarmed.

The men robbed the tourists of laptops, cash, cell phones including a passport before fleeing the scene. In the process one tourist was injured on his left eye during the scuffle that ensued. According to information the three men threw the tourists’ vehicle keys away however, they were recovered when the police arrived.

No one has been arrested so far and a request is hereby made to anyone who may assist with information regarding the suspects whereabouts to contact Investigating Officer, Captain Sipho Nkosi at 082 565 7322 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
