Movie night with an extra-large popcorn and free mugging

Rustenburg – A 15 year-old teenager was mugged at knifepoint in the men’s bathroom of the Waterfall mall on Saturday evening, 4 October 2014. The boy went to the movies with a friend; together with his sister and her friend – watching another movie.

During the movie, the boy went to the restrooms, and while there, he was approached by three men.
They surrounded him; one grabbed him and held a knife to his throat while the other two went through his pockets. They emptied his pockets, stole his cellphone and took all the cash he had with him.

Moments later the men fled the scene, leaving the boy shaken up but physically unharmed. The boy contacted his parents and told them what happened.

The parents rushed to their son’s aid and together with the boy, they searched through all the restaurants and bathrooms to see if they could find the criminals. When the parents enquired about the camera footage and if they could see it, the security explained that there are no cameras in the restroom area.
