A resident from Island View, Mossel Bay shot a house robber dead in the early hours of May 14, 2015.
The man (50) slept with a pistol under his pillow and woke up when three robbers jumped through the bedroom window.
One of the robbers sat on top of the man, where he and his wife (44) were sleeping.
During the struggle the victim grabbed the pistol and fired several shots. The robbers fled through the bedroom window.
One of the men was found dead a few meters away.
The other suspects are still at large.
According to Captain Wollie Fourie of the Da Gamaskop Police Station the man’s home was also targeted the night of May 12, 2015. The robbers removed burglar bars but fled when the man’s dog started barking.
