A Fordsburg businessman was killed in a hail of bullets while visiting his mother’s grave at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg on Saturday morning, Sophiatown police have confirmed.
Spokesperson Brigadier Susan Crafford confirmed the 43-year-old man’s body was found with eight bullet wounds.
Three men driving in a charcoal Suzuki are believed to be behind the attack, she said.
“Two [of the] suspects jumped over the graveyard fence using a mini step ladder and started to shoot at the victim,” Crafford said.
The victim, who had been driving a silver Lexus, died at the scene. He had not been robbed.
Police are investigating a case of murder, she confirmed.
