Two motorcyclists have been killed in separate accidents on Sunday, paramedics reported.
In the first, a man was killed when his motorcycle struck a pothole causing him to flung off on the R602 near Danhauser in KwaZulu-Natal.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that the biker had sustained severe injuries to his chest and head and was in a critical condition.
“Paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided the patient with advanced life support. Unfortunately, after 40 minutes, the patient the patient succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.”
“It is understood that the patient was on his motorcycle when he hit a pothole, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.”
In another incident, a motorcyclist collided with a car on Lake Road in Germiston on Sunday night.
Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said that the bike had collided with the side of the car.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the motorbike had broken up into several pieces. The biker was found several meters from the wreckage, tragically he died on impact,” he said.
