A man is in a critical condition after he was shot during an armed robbery on Wednesday night July 29, 2015 outside the Sheraton hotel in Arcadia, Pretoria.

Maj. Mack Mngomezulu, provincial police spokesperson, said the man stopped in front of the hotel with other guests and were busy to download their luggage when an Audi stopped beside them. “Three armed robbers jumped out, threatened them with firearms and stole luggage,” said Mngomezulu. “Just before they fled, they fired a shot and the man was wounded in the chest.”

According to Russel Meiring ER24 spokesperson who was on the scene, the man was in a critical condition when paramedics arrived, but still conscious. After paramedics stabilized him, he was rushed to the hospital Muelmed hospital.

Mngomezulu said a case of armed robbery was being investigated. No one has been arrested.
