Malema: Minister of agriculture a walking disaster

Cape Town – Former union leader Senzeni Zokwana’s appointment to President Jacob Zuma’s cabinet was a “reward” for having threatened to march naked, EFF leader Julius Malema told journalists on Sunday.

“(Zokwana) as a minister of agriculture? Come on, I don’t think he’s got anything to offer. The man is challenged. The man is a disaster, a walking disaster,” Malema said at a media briefing in Cape Town.

He then referred to Zokwana’s call, two years ago, for men to march naked in protest against artist Brett Murray’s controversial painting The Spear, which depicted Zuma with exposed genitals.

“Remember that Zokwana is being rewarded for having threatened to march naked… He threatened (to do so) during that art gallery thing of Zuma, that Spear.

“Zokwana… said, we are going to march naked, and we are like hau! hau! hau! We don’t want to see those things of Zokwana. He is rewarded for demonstrating capacity to march naked, that is the reward he gets,” Malema said, to laughter from EFF MPs and journalists.

He said the country had become a joke…
