The South African Police Service in Bela-Bela are investigating a case after a 21 year old woman, Swans Van Wyke, was allegedly attacked and killed by a pack of lions after entering the animals’ enclosure at a private Game Reserve.
The police and the medical emergency services were summoned and responded swiftly. On arrival, they found the woman with severe injuries outside the cage. She was certified dead by the paramedics at the scene of crime.
The Preliminary Police investigations indicated that the deceased was performing her duties when she was attacked and killed by the lions.
The circumstances leading to this tragic incident are still unknown at this stage but the ongoing Police investigations will tell.
