Manhunt for wanted escapee, Tonko Gift Tshehla who escaped in the Motetema Policing area outside Groblersdal yielded success.

The suspect was rearrested on the night of 24 July 2017 at about 22:00 at his hideout in Sephaku Village in Hlogotlou policing area following a tip off from members of the community.

The suspect will appear before the Motetema Magistrate’s Court on a charge of escaping from lawful custody and on his original multiple charges of rape.

The suspect aged 20, who is from Bapeding Section in Tafelkop escaped from Motetema outside Groblersdal.

This suspect was originally arrested for a case of rape which he committed during 2016 and he was later linked to another five cases of rape which he committed during 2014.

Police investigations are continuing.
