LIMPOPO — A 43-year-old male foreign national is scheduled to appear at the Nebo Magistrate’s Court this week following his arrest for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The apprehension occurred on Monday, 15 June 2026, when operatives from the Hlogotlou police intercepted the suspect at a local filling station in Vleisboom. The arrest, which took place at approximately 15:30, was executed under the jurisdiction of the Hlogotlou policing precinct.

Following the seizure of the weapons, the accused was detained and remains in police custody. He is formally expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, to face the weapons-related charges.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the investigation into the matter remains active. Detectives are currently working to verify the status and validity of the suspect’s legal documentation as part of their ongoing inquiries.
