A violent farm attack took place on 8 May 2019, in Dendron, Limpopo province. Basie Nelson (70) was attacked and assaulted on his farm Lemoenfontein by four attackers who seriously injured him and stabbed him in the head. Heritage Protection Group gathered information that led to the arrest of one suspect. An operation was organized together with Mogwadi and Makhado detectives that resulted in the arrest of the attacker at Tshikota village, Louis Trichardt, The victim’s cell phone was recovered in his possession.
The attacker was questioned and he gave up the three names of Zimbabweans who accompanied him during the attack. All three of these accomplices were already in jail having been arrested in Makhado area during the week on other cases of robbery, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and stolen property.
