Nearly three years after the abduction of a 9-year-old girl, her family continues to endure unimaginable pain as her disappearance remains unresolved. She was allegedly taken by a group of men on August 11, 2022, while walking home from school near Louis Trichardt. Her belongings were later found near a riverbank, but there has been no trace of her since.

Her mother, still traumatized, expressed her agony: “You know it is painful… I don’t know where my daughter is or if she is still alive. It would have been better if I had buried her. It is a lifetime wound that does not heal.” The family accuses the police of sluggish investigations, claiming little progress has been made despite leads.

Her case is not isolated. An Eight-year-old disappeared on August 5, 2022, after being sent to a local store. Three suspects were arrested, but she has never been found. Another child, six-year-old, vanished in December 2022 while herding cattle with his grandfather.

A civic organization has called for urgent intervention, pleading with authorities to allocate more resources to missing children cases. “We want these high-risk cases finalized immediately,” a representative urged.

A Limpopo police spokesperson promised to provide updates, but grieving families still await answers—and justice.
