In Tubatse near Burgersfort, two suspects aged 26 and 35 years old were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
It is alleged that when a police operation was unfolding around Bothashoek village, a suspicious car was spotted with three occupants inside which ultimately made a fast U turn.
A chase ensued and the Police managed to pull the vehicle off the road and searched all the occupants and the vehicle.
During the search police recovered, a rifle, shotgun, a pistol with one magazine and 13 rounds, various other rounds of ammunition, counterfeit money and cell phones.
Suspected stolen property was also recovered.
The arrested suspects during the operation will appear before Tubatse Magistrate courts on Monday 24 July 2017
