Limpopo: The Provincial Crime Intelligence Coordination Team and Mankweng detectives conducted a crime intelligence led operation over the weekend that led to the arrest of two suspects in Mankweng Unit D. The two suspects were allegedly terrorizing students of the University of Limpopo by raping and robbing them of their belongings.

The police received information and subsequently arrested the two suspects.

The following items were found during the arrest:

  • 9mm pistol
  • four rounds of ammunition
  • Five laptops
  • Six cellphones

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, commended the members for their dedication in pursuing the culprits. He also thanked community members for their continued support in providing the police with valuable information.

The arrested suspects are linked to a number of cases in the area including rape, attempted murder and house robbery.

They will appear before the Mankweng Magistrate Court on Monday, 6 February 2017.
