The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has applauded the men and women in blue in the Detection environment who constantly work so hard without compromise in apprehending dangerous criminals which led to the sentencing of five criminals for violent and serious crimes.

In the Burgersfort Cluster, a 34 year old Thabo Ignicious Dibokwane was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment by the Sekhukhune Magistrate’s Court for rape and was also declared unfit to possess firearm.

This jail term emanates from a rape incident which occurred at Tukakgomo village on 12 June 2016 at about 23:10 when the accused forcefully entered the victim’s residence through a window and raped a 16 year old girl.

Meanwhile in the Lephalale Cluster, Albert Taurai (34) from Mozambique was slapped with 15 years imprisonment by the Lephalale Regional Court for raping a 25 year old woman on the 29 June 2015 in Leseding location in the Vaalwater policing area outside Lephalale.

These sentences brought a big smile and a cheer of heart to the Limpopo management. “Such excellent performances of acquiring jail terms put Limpopo on a high flag and we congratulate all these teams of Detectives who were involved in all these cases on the job well done. Their hard work and passion of serving with pride to protect the citizens of this Province has indeed produced fruitful and meaningful results,” concluded Lieutenant General Ledwaba.
