The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has condemned in the strongest possible terms acts of vigilantism and mob killings which are still taking place in some parts of this province.

This condemnation is emanating from the alleged kidnapping and brutal killing of two men aged 29 and 30 and attempted killing of two others in the City of Polokwane.

The incident took place on 28 July 2017 in the afternoon when a group of men who were travelling with combis went on the rampage and committed this heinous acts.

It is alleged that a group of unknown men went out looking for the two deceased and another two, they collected one along the way and the fourth one at his parents home outside Polokwane.

They accused them of being involved in a series of criminal activities in and around the city and they subsequently took them to the Polokwane CBD.

Upon arriving at corner Risk and Devinish, they started assaulting all four victims, killing two instantly and the other two sustained serious injuries. They were later taken to the hospital for medical treatment after police intervention.

The suspects in this matter are still unknown and there is no arrest.
