The Polokwane High Court has handed down long jail terms to two dangerous criminals for various offences including murder. The duo was arrested during a sting Intelligence Led Joint Operation following their reign of terror in the Mankweng Policing area outside Polokwane.

Given Letswalo (30) was sentenced to an effective life imprisonment plus 15 years for murder and armed robbery.
Nicodimus Kubayi (20) was sentenced to an effective 15 years imprisonment without the option of a fine.

These accused committed a spate of criminal activities where they shot their victims and robbed them of their valuable properties during the year 2015.

During one of the incidents, Tebele Mamabolo was killed in his car along the R71 road.

Following these persistent criminal activities, a Special Dedicated Team led by the Crime Intelligence was immediately established and a manhunt ensued, resulting in the arrest of the two.

The Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has applauded the Crime Intelligence operatives and the Dedicated Team for working hard and tirelessly in ensuring that these criminals are brought to book and ultimately given long jail terms.

“This is a remarkable achievement in the fight against serious and violent crimes, especially where firearms are involved. We are determined to clean all our streets of any acts of criminality. We urge members of the community to continue supporting us through the supply of quality and reliable information at all times,” concluded General Ledwaba.
