In a concerted effort to fight the mushrooming of drugs, serious and violent crimes including trio crimes, the police have, during the intelligent led joint clean up operations which were running parallel with Operation “Zonke” until the morning of 7 August 2017, achieved magnificent results which saw the recovery of a number of stolen properties and drugs.

These operations which are composed of various Police Units are focusing on all crime infested areas throughout the Province and have led to the arrest of several suspects for various offences and recovery of a large amount of stolen items.

operation “Zonke” which covered Burgersfort, Bela Bela and Lebowakgomo Clusters and led by the Provincial Drug Unit, led to the arrest of a 25 year old man at Ga-Mphahlele near Lebowakgomo and recovered 114 sachets of drugs, with the street value of R5 700-00, two unlicensed firearms with two magazines, twenty two live rounds of ammunition and a cash amount of R1 645-60.

In the City of Polokwane near Savana Mall, operation “Zonke” led to the arrest of one suspect aged 37 from Flora Park and recovered 4.22 kg of dagga with the estimated street value of R14 000-00.

This suspect will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate Court soon on a charge of dealing in dagga.
