A well coordinated intelligence driven operation was established following the receipt of information on the existence of firearms at Solomondale next to Mankweng outside Polokwane.

This sting operation, which comprised of members from Crime Intelligence, Mankweng Cluster Task Team and Detectives, yielded instant results when the duo were nabbed and the following firearms and ammunition recovered:

1 x Star 9mm pistol, 3 x Norinco pistols, 5 x Star pistols, 1 x Arcus pistol, 1 x Rossi revolver, 1 x Girsan pistol and 15 x live 9mm rounds.
