Trio crime suspect found with large arms stash, Lephalale cluster

The Tactical Intelligence driven Joint Operation comprised of the Lephalale Cluster K9 Unit, the Crime Prevention Unit, the Detectives, the Bomb Disposal Unit and the SPCA, have arrested a 36 year old man for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

The suspect is believed to be the kingpin of the Trio crimes in the Lephalale, Modimolle, Bela-Bela and the surrounding areas.

The suspect was arrested on a farm outside Lephalale and the following firearms were recovered:
1 × R1 Rifle
1 × 9mm
1 × R4 Rifle
2 × Shotguns
355 × 9mm live ammunition.
301 × shotgun live ammunition.
1793 x rifle live ammunition.

The origin of all these recovered firearms and ammunition will still be determined by the ongoing Police investigations.

The arrested suspect will appear before the Mokerong Magistrate Court soon.
