Three lions killed, heads and paws removed from two males
The male lions' heads and paws were removed.

Unlawful Hunting or Hunting of specially protected animals (lions) without permit on 26 January 2017.

The police are looking for suspects responsible for the killing of lions on a farm south of Polokwane.

Three lions were found killed, possibly through poisoning, at a farm outside Polokwane.

Two of the lions, both males, were found with their heads and paws removed. The third one, a female was not dismembered.

This latest incident is similar to the cases that were previously reported in Tzaneen, Mara and Hoedspruit.

The motive is not known at this stage. Police investigations are continuing.
