Heritage Protection Group,(HPG) was involved in the follow-up, tracking and arresting of three Rhino poachers. The three, Vusa Andries Khumalo, Chisa Jumunda Sithole and Antoni Mathole were arrested on a Bela Bela case.
They were all found guilty on the following charges:
1. Hunting of protected species – Rhino, Five years imprisonment
2. Game theft Act, Five years imprisonment
3. Leaving / Making an opening in a fence, 2 years imprisonment
All accused will serve an effective 7 years imprisonment of the twelve year sentence and were also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
