A 20-year-old male suspect is set to appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder following the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man in the early hours of Monday, 26 May 2025.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 05:00 at a residence in Praktiseer, Sekhukhune District. Authorities were alerted to the murder and promptly responded to the scene, where they discovered the victim lying on the ground with severe upper-body injuries. Emergency Medical Services were called, but the young man was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the attack took place during a social gathering inside the home. An argument allegedly broke out between the suspect and the victim, escalating into a violent confrontation. The suspect reportedly stabbed the victim multiple times with a sharp object, inflicting fatal wounds.
Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene, prompting police at Tubatse SAPS to open a murder case and launch an immediate manhunt. The suspect was later apprehended within the policing area.
