Suspect nabbed with illegal firearm, ammunition, Phalaborwa

Makhale Moshe Pilusa aged 27 appeared before Namakgale Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 25 October 2018, on a charge of illegal possession of ammunition and his case was remanded to 27 November 2018, for further police investigations.

The accused was granted R1000. 00 bail.

This comes after the accused was found in possession of unlicensed ammunition during a sting operation “ceasefire” in Phalaborwa outside Giyani, during early hours of 24 October 2018.

The members comprising various units within the station reacted to a tip off about a suspect in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The suspect was traced at a house in Machidi Mashishimale village and during the search 26 rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

Further police investigations are still to be conducted to establish the origin of these ammunition.
